Prototype replacement via duplicate __proto__ headers
Published Sep 3, 2026 · Updated Sep 4, 2026
Prototype pollution in Adaltas csv-parse before 7.0.2 allows remote attackers to replace parsed record prototypes via crafted CSV headers. In packages/csv-parse/lib/api/index.js, the duplicate-column path treats inherited proto as an existing field and assigns an attacker-controlled array through the prototype setter. Both columns and group_columns_by_name must be enabled; inherited values can evade JSON serialization and alter enumeration or shape checks.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
