Stored XSS via unescaped carousel attribute
Published Sep 27, 2026 · Updated Sep 27, 2026
Stored XSS in EmbedPress before 4.6.7 allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through an Instagram carousel block attribute. The carousel renderer places the attacker-controlled slides-to-show value inside an HTML attribute without output escaping. Contributor-level access is required to store the payload, which executes when a higher-privileged user views the affected post.
