Credential disclosure via ungated backup endpoints
Published Sep 21, 2026 · Updated Sep 21, 2026
Missing authorization in ntopng before 6.7.260718 allows remote authenticated users to download system backups containing credentials. The two REST backup endpoints call backup_config functions without an administrator check, and the export serializes ntopng.user.* Redis keys. Any logged-in non-admin account can obtain password hashes and configured API tokens, TOTP secrets, or WebAuthn data, enabling account compromise.
