Tag deletion and renaming via unchecked REST endpoints
Published Sep 3, 2026 · Updated Sep 3, 2026
Missing authorization in ntopng 6.7.0 through 6.7.260717 allows remote authenticated users to delete or rename arbitrary tags. The delete and edit REST v2 scripts pass attacker-controlled tag identifiers and attributes to Redis-backed tag functions without an administrator or capability check. Any non-administrator account with a valid session and CSRF token can alter system-wide tags used for classification, alerts, and dashboards.
