API quota consumption via unauthorized review loading
Published Sep 5, 2026 · Updated Sep 6, 2026
Improper access control in WPDeveloper EmbedPress 4.6.0 through 4.6.3 allows remote attackers to consume API quota and add database rows. The public Google Reviews loading action accepts unauthenticated requests, invokes a billable third-party API with the site's configured key, and inserts attacker-controlled review rows without a bound. A site must have Google Reviews configured; repeated requests consume its API quota and grow its WordPress database without limit.
