OCR service interruption via unbounded image requests

Published Sep 2, 2026 · Updated Sep 2, 2026

Uncontrolled resource consumption in Simular Agent S 0.3.0 through 0.3.2 allows remote attackers to interrupt the OCR service via HTTP. The unauthenticated /ocr/ route materializes an unbounded JSON img_bytes field, base64-decodes it, converts it to an image array, and invokes OCR without byte, pixel, time, or concurrency limits. A single oversized request can exhaust memory or monopolize a worker, causing the OCR container to terminate or OCR-backed functions to become unavailable.
