Authenticated work-contract modification via ungated API preferences
Published Sep 2, 2026 · Updated Sep 2, 2026
Missing authorization in Kimai 2.61.0 and later before 2.63.0 allows remote authenticated users to alter admin-only work-contract data. WorkContractPreferenceSubscriber registers the protected preferences as enabled without applying the contract_other_profile permission check enforced by the web interface. Any regular employee account can send PATCH /api/users/{id}/preferences to change its own employment-contract fields, but not another user's data.
