Unauthorized asset deletion and replacement via forced move
Published Sep 2, 2026 · Updated Sep 2, 2026
Missing authorization in Craft CMS before 5.10.11 allows remote authenticated users to delete or replace peer assets through a forced move. The assets/move-asset action processes force=1 by merging or deleting a conflicting destination asset without checking permission for that peer asset. Exploitation requires control-panel access, permission to manage an owned asset in the same volume, and a conflicting filename in another user's folder.
