Stored XSS via unescaped site name

Published Sep 2, 2026 · Updated Sep 2, 2026

Stored XSS in Pixel & Tonic Craft CMS 5.0.0-RC1 through 5.10.10 allows remote authenticated users to run JavaScript in the control panel. The application stores an unsanitized site name and renders it without escaping when another user opens control-panel settings, including Settings > Email. Exploitation requires an administrator account with allowAdminChanges enabled; a viewing user's browser then executes the payload in the control-panel origin.
