Heap disclosure or crash via stale retransmission offset
Published Sep 29, 2026 · Updated Sep 29, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in affected OpenSSL DTLS releases allows remote attackers to receive heap data or crash a DTLS endpoint. Retransmission reuses the position of a suspended handshake write instead of starting at the queued message's beginning, reading past its buffer and corrupting shared write state. Exposure requires a fragmented handshake write suspended while its retransmission timer fires; resumed writes can also abort a debugging build.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
