Control-plane execution via omitted instance-group authorization
Published Sep 23, 2026 · Updated Sep 23, 2026
Authorization bypass in Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform allows remote authenticated users to run jobs in unauthorized instance groups. The workflow-template copy sanitizer preserves node instance_groups, execution_environment, and labels while checking authorization only for inventory, job templates, and credentials. Organization workflow-admin permission is required; a copied workflow grants its copier administrative control and can run attacker-influenced automation in the control-plane execution context.
