CVE-2026-84716Network attack vector

Mesh TLS impersonation via case-variant hostnames

Published Sep 23, 2026 · Updated Sep 23, 2026

Certificate validation weakness in Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform allows remote authenticated users to impersonate mesh nodes. The controller's install-bundle endpoint copies a caller-chosen instance hostname into a mesh-CA-signed certificate while uniqueness checks compare hostnames case-sensitively. A System Administrator with an on-path position can register a case variant and intercept mesh TLS traffic, but the bundle does not enable work submission or direct code execution.
