Replication disclosure and disruption via unauthenticated protobuf dispatch
Published Sep 2, 2026 · Updated Sep 2, 2026
Missing authentication in PiKiwiDB 4.0.4-alpha and earlier allows remote attackers to read replication data and remove replicas. The DealMessage frame dispatcher routes TrySync, DBSync, BinlogSync, and RemoveSlaveNode messages without requiring successful MetaSync authentication. Direct network access to the derived protobuf replication port is sufficient, even when requirepass is configured, exposing snapshots and live writes and allowing replica removal.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
