Cross-tenant data access via JSONPath SQL injection
Published Sep 16, 2026 · Updated Sep 16, 2026
SQL injection in OpenMeter before 1.0.0-beta.228 allows remote authenticated users to read or modify cross-tenant metering data. The ClickHouse JSONPath query builder interpolates meter valueProperty and groupBy input into a quoted SQL string, while its escape helper leaves single quotes unescaped. A valid tenant API key and a valid JSONPath prefix are required; injected queries can expose all tenants' events, alter data within database grants, or exhaust resources.
