Kernel code execution via AVEVideoEncoder race
Published Sep 14, 2026 · Updated Sep 14, 2026
A race condition in AVEVideoEncoder in affected Apple operating systems allows sandboxed apps to execute code with kernel privileges. Apple has not disclosed which shared state is raced or how AVEVideoEncoder mishandles that state. Exploitation requires attacker-controlled app code inside a sandbox; success crosses the sandbox boundary and gains kernel-level code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
