CVE-2026-84598

Arbitrary file read and write via path traversal

Published Sep 14, 2026 · Updated Sep 14, 2026

Path traversal in MobileBackup in Apple iOS and iPadOS before 26.7 and before 27 allows physically proximate attackers to read and write arbitrary files. MobileBackup inadequately validates file paths, allowing traversal paths to escape their intended file location. Exploitation requires physical access to a trust-paired device and permits disclosure or modification of arbitrary files.
