Sensitive data disclosure via pasteboard sandbox bypass
Published Sep 14, 2026 · Updated Sep 14, 2026
Access control failure in Foundation in Apple macOS before 27 allows local users to read sensitive user data from system pasteboards. The system pasteboard sandbox policy permits an app to access content that should remain outside its sandbox; Apple has not published a narrower code-level locus. Execution of an app on an affected Mac is required, and the documented consequence is data disclosure rather than modification or service interruption.
