System crash via NFS out-of-bounds read
Published Sep 14, 2026 · Updated Sep 14, 2026
An out-of-bounds read in the macOS kernel before 15.8, 26.7, and 27 allows remote attackers to crash the system via a malicious NFS server. The kernel's NFS client reads beyond a buffer boundary because it does not adequately validate server-supplied data before accessing memory. A Mac must connect to an attacker-controlled NFS server; successful exploitation causes unexpected system termination or corrupts kernel memory.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
