Authenticated file deletion via unchecked relative paths
Published Jun 16, 2026 · Updated Jun 16, 2026
Path traversal in WP Review Slider Pro 12.6.8 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary server files. The wpfb_hidereview_ajax() function accepts a stored media URL after only a prefix check, leaves traversal sequences in its relative path, and passes the result to unlink(). Subscriber-level access to either affected AJAX handler is sufficient; deletion can disrupt the site or remove files that protect against code execution.
