CVE-2026-84373Public exploitNetwork attack vectorHinoki check available

Arbitrary file read via unchecked redirect path

Published Sep 1, 2026 · Updated Sep 2, 2026

Path traversal in Vitest and @vitest/mocker 2.1.0 through 4.1.10 and 5.0.0-beta.1 through 5.0.0-rc.1 allows remote attackers to read local files. The interceptorPlugin register handler joins an opaque redirect URL's preserved .. segments to the project root without applying Vite's file-serving allowlist, and its load hook returns the resolved file as module source. Unauthenticated exploitation requires a reachable, nondefault exposed development server using the public mockerPlugin or standalone interceptorPlugin; browser mode instead requires its per-run token, and the bounded consequence is disclosure of files readable by the server process.
