Stored XSS via SVG SMIL URI-list scheme-policy bypass
Published Sep 1, 2026 · Updated Sep 2, 2026
Stored XSS in sanitize-html 1.9.0 through 2.17.6 allows remote authenticated users to execute script via crafted SVG animation. index.js validates each SVG animation value attribute as one flat URL, so a safe first values entry lets a later javascript destination survive scheme checks. Exploitation requires an application to allow SVG animation elements and a victim to activate the sanitized link.
