Build artifact overwrite via incomplete path normalization
Published Sep 1, 2026 · Updated Sep 1, 2026
Path traversal in Hono before 4.13.5 allows attackers to write files outside the output directory during static site generation. The toSSG() path builder and containment check share a normalization routine that fails to collapse consecutive parent-directory segments, so an accepted path resolves beyond the configured root. Exploitation requires a build to use untrusted ssgParams values; request-time routing and builds with developer-controlled parameters are unaffected.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
