Configuration tampering via missing MCP secure-session enforcement
Published Oct 12, 2026 · Updated Oct 12, 2026
Authentication bypass in 0xJacky Nginx UI before 2.4.1 allows remote authenticated users to change Nginx configuration via MCP. The /mcp and /mcp_message routes expose nginx_config_add and nginx_config_modify with ordinary authentication instead of the RequireSecureSession check used by HTTP configuration mutation routes. With MCP enabled, an OTP-enabled account's normal JWT permits configuration writes and reload behavior without a valid X-Secure-Session-ID.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
