Backup file writes via unchecked task names
Published Oct 12, 2026 · Updated Oct 12, 2026
Path traversal in Nginx UI before 2.4.3 allows remote authenticated users to write backup files outside allowed paths via task names. AutoBackup.GetName leaves path separators and parent-directory components intact, and downstream filename construction passes them to filepath.Join without validating the final path. Access to create or modify automatic backups is required; archive and adjacent encryption-key writes remain bounded by process filesystem permissions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
