Authenticated NJS execution via unchecked MCP configuration
Published Oct 12, 2026 · Updated Oct 12, 2026
Validation bypass in 0xJacky Nginx UI before 2.4.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute NJS via MCP configuration writes. The nginx_config_add tool writes untrusted configuration and reloads Nginx without enforcing the restricted-directive checks used by the HTTP API. Exploitation requires a secondary authenticated account, enabled MCP, and available NJS; execution occurs inside the Nginx worker context and does not itself execute OS commands.
