Authenticated service interruption via unbounded prompt queue
Published Sep 1, 2026 · Updated Sep 2, 2026
Denial of service in Nous Research Hermes Agent 0.18.0 through 0.18.2 allows remote authenticated users to interrupt ACP prompts. While a session runs, HermesACPAgent.prompt appends new prompts to SessionState.queued_prompts without count, byte, lifetime, or aggregate limits, then drains them through recursive prompt calls. An authenticated ACP client can exhaust the shared executor with queued model and tool work, causing other prompt requests to exceed normal client deadlines.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
