Unauthenticated file write via upload path traversal
Published Oct 8, 2026 · Updated Oct 8, 2026
Path traversal in IBM Guardium Data Protection 12.2 allows remote attackers to write arbitrary Collector files through GIM uploads. The upload functionality fails to confine file writes to the intended directory; IBM does not publish the affected handler or path-validation logic. Exploitation requires network access to the upload functionality but no authentication or user interaction; arbitrary file writing is the documented consequence.
