Unauthenticated takeover via unchecked REST option updates
Published Oct 11, 2026 · Updated Oct 11, 2026
Missing authorization in click5 CRM add-on to Contact Form 7 1.0.4 and earlier allows remote attackers to change WordPress options. The REST option-update endpoint accepts arbitrary option names without authorization or CSRF checks and does not restrict writes to plugin-owned settings. With the plugin active and the endpoint reachable, attackers can change site options to create an administrator account and take over the site without credentials.
