Script execution via stored search-result injection
Published Oct 8, 2026 · Updated Oct 8, 2026
Stored XSS in IBM Guardium Data Protection 12.2 allows remote attackers to execute browser scripts through Quick Search results. The results grid renders attacker-influenced monitored database content as executable script; IBM does not disclose the specific rendering function. Guardium authentication is unnecessary for attackers, but execution occurs in an authenticated user's browser, not as appliance operating-system commands.
