Authenticated SSRF via unvalidated ThingModel URLs
Published Sep 2, 2026 · Updated Sep 2, 2026
Server-side request forgery in Eclipse Ditto 2.4.0 through 3.9.6 allows remote authenticated users to reach internal HTTP services. The Things service fetches Thing or Feature definition URLs without validating destinations and follows redirects without rechecking targets or limiting hops. Reachability requires permission to create a Thing or WRITE an existing Thing; response differences expose an internal-service oracle, while redirect loops occupy a dispatcher thread until timeout.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=2.4.0 <3.0.0
- Affected versionversion=3.0.0 <=3.8.12
