Subscriber cross-user favorites access via unchecked user ID
Published Sep 23, 2026 · Updated Sep 23, 2026
Broken access control in wpWax Directorist before 8.9.5 allows remote authenticated users to read and alter other users' favorites. The user favorites REST routes accept a user ID for reads, additions, and deletions without confirming that it matches the authenticated caller. Subscriber-level access is sufficient, and exploitation exposes or changes saved favorites without granting broader account control.
