Privilege escalation in Red Hat Hardened Images with crun 1.29 and later allows local users to execute code as host root. The libkrun_start_passt routine invokes passt by name through execvp after container mounts are established, allowing an image-supplied executable to be selected. Exploitation requires a libkrun-enabled build, a rootful container start, passt networking enabled through krun.use_passt, and attacker control of the image.
