Scheduled job activation via forged approval responses
Published Sep 22, 2026 · Updated Sep 22, 2026
Improper authorization in Nautobot 3.0.0 through 3.1.7 allows remote authenticated users to activate gated scheduled jobs. The generic ApprovalWorkflowStageResponse create endpoint omits approver-group, object-change, and per-user response checks while accepting writable user and state fields. A user holding only extras.add_approvalworkflowstageresponse can forge enough approvals to satisfy min_approvers and enable the gated job without a legitimate approver.
