Stored XSS via unsafe form help text
Published Sep 22, 2026 · Updated Sep 22, 2026
Stored XSS in Network to Code Nautobot 2.4.36 and earlier and 3.0.0 through 3.1.7 allows remote authenticated users to execute browser scripts. Relationship descriptions and Module Family names are assigned verbatim to form-field help_text that render_field.html renders through Django's safe filter without neutralization. The attacker needs the corresponding add or change permission, and execution occurs when an authenticated user opens an affected create or edit form, enabling actions in that victim's session or session/token theft.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
