Authenticated threat-intelligence tampering via missing administrator check
Published Sep 21, 2026 · Updated Sep 21, 2026
Missing authorization in ntopng before 6.7.260717 allows remote authenticated users to alter threat-intelligence blocklist settings. The edit_blacklist.lua REST handler passes user-controlled list names, enablement flags, URLs, and update intervals to lists_utils.editList without checking for administrator privileges. Any authenticated non-administrator can redirect list downloads, disable blocklists, or stop scheduled updates, impairing monitoring integrity and availability.
