Parent-agent crash via dimension-slot allocation overflow
Published Sep 22, 2026 · Updated Sep 22, 2026
Integer overflow in Netdata Agent before 2.10.4 allows remote authenticated users to crash a parent agent via a dimension slot. pluginsd_rrddim_put_to_slot passes an uncapped stream value to prd_array_create, whose size calculation wraps while the original array length controls initialization writes. A valid streaming API key and parent-child streaming are required; exploitation terminates the parent and halts its monitoring, alerting, and data collection.
