Unauthenticated DoS via missing HTTP header deadlines
Published Oct 12, 2026 · Updated Oct 12, 2026
DoS in openstack-network-exporter allows remote attackers to interrupt Prometheus metric scraping via slow HTTP headers. Its HTTP server lacks ReadHeaderTimeout and other read deadlines, retaining connections and file descriptors while incomplete headers arrive slowly. Exploitation requires network access to the exporter listener and no credentials; resource exhaustion prevents legitimate scraping and associated alerting, rather than establishing a crash or reboot.
