Code execution via malformed file out-of-bounds write
Published Jul 14, 2026 · Updated Jul 14, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in siman.exe in Rockwell Automation Arena Simulation 17.00.00 and earlier allows local users to execute code. The Siman component fails to validate data from an opened file before writing beyond the intended memory boundary. Exploitation requires a local user to open a crafted file, after which code runs with the privileges of the Arena process.
