Code execution via linker.exe out-of-bounds write
Published Jul 14, 2026 · Updated Jul 14, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in linker.exe in Rockwell Automation Arena Simulation 17.00.00 and earlier allows attackers to execute code. The Siman linker component inadequately validates user-supplied data and writes beyond the bounds of its allocated memory. Exploitation requires a user to open a malicious file, after which code runs in the current process context.
