Authenticated file read via SOAP COPY imports
Published Aug 31, 2026 · Updated Aug 31, 2026
Path traversal in ILIAS before 9.22, 10.0 through 10.9, and 11.0 through 11.2 allows remote authenticated users to read server files. The SOAP addFile path passes attacker-supplied COPY-mode XML to ilFileXMLParser, whose import directory accepts absolute paths without confinement. A low-privileged account with file-creation rights can retrieve any file readable by the web-server process, including configuration credentials and setup passwords.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=0 <9.22
