Unauthorized reconciliation via unverified execute plans
Published Aug 31, 2026 · Updated Aug 31, 2026
Insufficient authenticity checks in Hulumi @hulumi/drift before 1.3.2 allow attackers to run unsafe reconciliation via crafted plans. The OrphanReconciler execute path accepts externally supplied execute plans without validating their provenance, so untrusted reconciliation instructions pass its security checks as trusted. Reachability requires an attacker-controlled plan to enter the execute path; successful use permits unauthorized operations against managed cloud resources.
