Authentication-state corruption via unvalidated redirect parameters
Published Aug 31, 2026 · Updated Aug 31, 2026
Authentication-state corruption in BENlabs TubeBuddy 5.8.0 through 5.8.4 allows remote attackers to overwrite a channel token via a crafted link. The redirect content script stores attacker-controlled t and c parameters in Chrome synced storage without validating token authenticity or binding the request to an initiated flow. A victim must open the link; the confirmed consequence is corrupted authentication state and interrupted TubeBuddy functionality, not account takeover.
