CVE-2026-82811Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Forced logout via unvalidated postMessage origin

Published Aug 31, 2026 · Updated Aug 31, 2026

Origin validation error in Toggl Track Extension 4.11.16 allows remote attackers to disrupt time tracking through crafted page messages. The content-script postMessage handler trusts event.source and a sender-controlled direction field without checking event.origin, then dispatches logout and other session-state actions. A logged-in user must visit a page where attacker-controlled script runs and the handler is active; confirmed impact is forced logout and interrupted tracking, not account takeover.
