Authenticated command execution via settings screen
Published Sep 14, 2026 · Updated Sep 14, 2026
OS command injection in CONTEC CAN-2-WF and CAN-2-USB before 2.20 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands. The firmware settings screen passes attacker-supplied command content to the operating system without neutralizing special elements; no narrower field or handler has been disclosed. Access requires a valid product login, after which commands can read or alter device data and interrupt or destroy the converter system.
