Insufficient credential protection in CONTEC CPSN-MCB271 firmware before 1.82 allows remote authenticated users to recover secrets from backups. Configuration backup files store MQTT and REST API credentials in a form that remains recoverable instead of adequately protecting the secrets. Low-privilege network access is required, and successful exploitation discloses credentials without reported data modification or service interruption.
