Password-digest disclosure via unfiltered audit actor records
Published Sep 17, 2026 · Updated Sep 17, 2026
Sensitive logging in Alembic Ash Authentication 4.12.0 through 4.14.2 and 5.0.0-rc.0 through 5.0.0-rc.1 allows local users to read password digests. The audit add-on copies the callback context's actor record into extra_data without removing hashed_password before raw-term storage or JSON encoding. Exploitation requires separate audit-store read access; affected entries expose active-account digests for offline password attack, while incompatible SQL serialization can drop the entry.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
