Unauthenticated Telnet enablement via hidden Web UI route
Published Aug 31, 2026 · Updated Aug 31, 2026
Missing authentication in the Tenda AC1206 15.03.06.23 Web UI allows remote attackers to enable Telnet via /goform/telnet. The security handler exempts this route from normal cookie and password checks, after which TendaTelnet kills any existing telnetd process and starts a new daemon bound to the LAN address. The route is reachable from the management network only while the web-admin password is empty; it enables Telnet, while shell access still depends on the daemon's credentials.
