CVE-2026-82671

Process termination via improperly privileged driver IOCTL

Published Aug 31, 2026 · Updated Aug 31, 2026

Improper privilege management in IObit Unlocker 1.3.0.12 allows local users with high privileges to terminate processes. The IObitUnlocker.sys IRP_MJ_DEVICE_CONTROL handler passes a caller-selected process to ZwTerminateProcess through an improperly privileged driver path. Exploitation requires local administrative access and can stop targeted processes, causing bounded integrity and availability loss without data disclosure.
