Unauthorized imports via incorrect target namespace authorization
Published Oct 13, 2026 · Updated Oct 13, 2026
Authorization bypass in GitLab CE/EE project import allows remote authenticated users to import projects beyond their token's scope. Import target namespace authorization accepts group destinations despite a fine-grained Personal Access Token granting only user-boundary import permissions. Exploitation requires such a token and additional conditions not publicly specified; the disclosed consequence is unauthorized project import into group namespaces.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=18.9 <19.2.8
