Authenticated server crash via filter-result pointer reuse
Published Aug 31, 2026 · Updated Aug 31, 2026
Use after free in Systerel S2OPC 1.7.0 through 1.7.3 allows remote authenticated users to crash an OPC UA server. The ModifyMonitoredItems response loop reuses a prior EventFilterResult pointer when a later same-item entry has an invalid filter, leaving multiple response slots to free the same heap object. An authenticated OPC UA client must submit two modifications for one monitored item; recursive response cleanup then aborts the server process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
